Position Summary The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations and set up for running a $100 million, in-house automated integrated HR/Payroll system serving our 1,250 full-time staff and a large number of part-time staff. Functions include coordinating and maintaining efficient daily payroll operations by setting up payroll schedules and appropriate calendars for all departments to meet payroll deadlines; authorizing all additions, deletions and miscellaneous changes for all full time and part time employees; ensuring that government reports, college deductions and financial accounts produced from the payroll system are reconciled on an annual basis; and preparing fiscal year-end working papers and reports. The incumbent is also responsible for supervising the daily activities performed by payroll clerks.
Qualifications The successful candidate will have a relevant three year diploma or degree, a Payroll Supervisor Designation, in process of attaining CGA/CMA designation as well as a minimum of three years of related experience. In addition, the successful candidate will have experience running an in-house automated payroll system, knowledge of government regulations, collective agreements and benefit plans and have a strong understanding of Accounting Principles. This position also requires superior communication and human relations skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to make decisions and solve problems regularly.
Notes Duration of Need: Three year contract with possibility of additional two year extension
