Pet Valu continues to grow! With recent expansion in western Canada, we currently have over 380 franchised and corporate stores in Canada and the U.S. providing expert advice and service to our customers. We are passionate about sourcing specialty food and supplies for dogs, cats, birds, fish and small animals and seek top talent to bring our customers the Better Pet Nutrition pet lovers expect.

This is primarily a telephone help-line position. Customer service and problem solving skills/aptitude are essential. Candidates must also have clear verbal, as well as concise written communication skills. Experience with MS Office and with Windows 2000 and XP environments is desirable. Retail experience, preferably with a Point-of-Sale system is a strong asset. In addition to the foregoing, interested candidates must be computer literate and have general aptitude for learning new proprietary and commercial software programs. Full training will be provided. This is a part time evenings and weekends position and is suitable for students.

Job Specifications

1. Take calls from stores and head office users; trouble-shooting, assisting or re-directing as necessary.


2. Logging calls received into problem-tracking software.


3. Maintain, update and follow-up on outstanding Problem Reports.


4. Follow up with relevant users for updates on problems requiring their action.


5. Assist in POS procedural documentation.


6. Participate in testing of POS hardware and software.


7. Participate in testing of in-house developed head office software.


8. Troubleshooting and maintenance of PCs and POS equipment.


9. Placing service calls with vendors and subsequent follow up to ensure satisfactory service.
