Job Description:

As a Junior Programmer within Thoughtcorp the co-op student/recent graduate will have the opportunity to be staffed on one of our data warehouse client engagements within the GTA. The Junior Programmer will work within a project team and be assigned project deliverables and tasks by their team lead. The Junior Programmer will have the opportunity to receive peer support and mentoring which will help them reach their long term career goals. In addition, they will also receive hands on consulting experience working on active projects at our respective client sites.

The Junior Programmer will be focused on completing technical programming assignments, unit testing and other technical related tasks within the project. These include but may not be limited to:

* Programming assignments within Microsoft .NET (ASP.NET, C#) or Java (JSP, J2EE) application components
* SQL Server and/or Oracle experience
* Unit testing of application code components developed
* Participation of system integration testing and defect fixing
* Technical analysis and or technical documentation


The Junior Programmer will work alongside experienced members of the Thoughtcorp engagement team which is comprised mainly of senior consultants and managers within the company. This will provide an excellent opportunity for candidates placed with Thoughtcorp to apply skills learned in school to real life business challenges encountered by our clients.

Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will include those studying technical programs such as Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics. Candidates must possess strong programming skills in either Microsoft .Net (ASP.NET, C#) or Java / J2EE languages.

A preference will be given to candidates possessing strong problem solving skills, strong written / verbal skills and those interested in working in a team environment.
